Route 1 In Camden Closed By Fatal Crash

A portion of Route 1 in Camden has been shut down while police deal with a fatal accident involving a pedestrian.

WABI-TV reports  a pedestrian was killed when they were struck by a vehicle. The accident happened at around 4:15 this morning.

Traffic is being detoured around the crash site. Northbound, motorists are being sent down Route 1, at Route 52. Southbound drivers are being routed on Route 173 in Lincolnville. Police say they hope to have the road reopened by noon.
