Rockland Police are asking for the public's help locating a sedan that struck a person in a wheelchair early Sunday morning.

In a post on the Department's Facebook page, police said the victim, whose name hasn't been released, was taken to the hospital in serious condition. The accident happened on South Main Street, just north of the Maritime Farm Store, at around 1:30 a.m. when the wheelchair was struck from behind.

Police say they're looking for a dark-colored sedan with damage to the lower center and left side of the front end. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident or has seen the vehicle is urged to call them at (207) 594-0316. In addition, they're asking that anyone who has surveillance cameras monitoring Route 73 get in touch with them. .
