State Police arrested two brothers from Richmond after their speeding car was pulled over on I-295 in Falmouth, Police Said.

As the Volkswagen Beetle was pulling over, Trooper Justin Cooley saw items being thrown from the car, said Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland.

Several other police officers responded to the scene to conduct a search along the road.

Christopher Gilley, 31, who was out on bail for prior heroin and cocaine charges, was arrested after failing a drug test.

Robert Gilley, 39, was charged with operating after suspension of his driver’s license.

Two hypodermic needles and some marijuana were found in the car, and a crack cocaine pipe was found in the median, McCausland said.

The brothers were taken to the Cumberland County Jail.
