The Parent Teacher Organizations from all of Bangor's Elementary Schools have joined together to try and purchase iPads for all of the city's elementary school classrooms. They have several fundraisers going on, including free coffee and an auction!

An iPad is a versatile tool in the classroom, whether it's used as a way to challenge a gifted student, or help a student who's fallen behind. Each teacher will find his or her own way to best use the iPad, depending on the needs of each class.

Each iPad costs approximately $375, and their goal is to raise enough to furnish one for each of 75 classrooms. That takes the total to $28, 125.00! So they could really use your help! Several Fundraisers are underway, with more to come....

Auction! - The PTO currently has an online auction with lots of great items up for bid. The auction will remain online until April 3rd. From April 4th to 7th, those same items will be put on display at the Maine Discovery Museum in Bangor for more bids. So if you put in a bid online, you'll want to stop by the museum before the 7th to make sure yours is still the highest!

Coffee! - Up for sale through the PTO are Tim Horton's Travel Mugs. $18 not only gets you the mug, but also treats you to free coffee every Monday for the rest of the year at all Tim Horton's Bangor locations!

Ice Cream! - The Darling's Ice Cream Truck for a Cause will be selling ice cream on April 7th in front of the Maine Discovery Museum, Bangor Lowes, and some other locations. If you see the truck on that day, buy an ice cream and the proceeds will go to buy iPads!

For more information and to see the auction items, log onto the Bangor Elementary Schools website. Good luck to these ambitious parents and teachers!
