Psychiatric Patient Accused Of Threatening Family Member With Knife

A man on leave from the Riverview Psychiatric Center is charged with threatening a family member with a knife.

Mark Gessner, 54, faces a felony charge of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon as a result of the Sunday incident at a home in Bath.

Gessner was committed to Riverfvew in 2016 after serving 21 years in prison for the 1994 murder of a man in Bath, according to a story in the Portland Press Herald.

Gessner was taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset, according to a release from the Bath Police Department.
