I've grown weary...weary of battling the distractions of people--friends, family and co-workers--that I wish to look in the eye and converse with. I've grown weary of the technology that demands so much of our time each and every day. We are growing apart...all of us. It seems the only we can communicate is through an email or text message. We hide behind tiny screens and large monitors, not even taking a moment to even glance at the person that has just acknowledged our existence.

I recently heard a well-known comedian, who was being serious for a change, saying something I thought to be rather profound. He said, "We spend so much of our time recording life, we forget to live it."

The video, although a tad long, really speaks volumes. I'm encouraged to never buy a smartphone.
