Portland Police Investigate Playground Stabbing

Portland Police are investigating a stabbing that happened overnight at a playground outside an apartment complex.

The Portland Press Herald reports there was a fight at the playground at Riverton Park, and someone reported the stabbing to police at around 2:30 Friday morning. The attack happened while a large group of people were hanging out at the playground in Portland's Housing Authority complex. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Maine Medical Center for treatment.

Police say there was a visible trail of blood on the playground this morning, but it had been sanitized. There's no word on whether police have any suspects in mind, but officers were in the woods behind the playground with police K--9's before dawn.
