Portland police are investigating the death of a man Monday in the city's West End as a homicide.

Police Chief Michael Sauschuck said a resident who noticed a man slumped over in a car parked on Chadwick Street called 911, and police responded to the scene, the Portland Press Herald reported.

Police took the man out of the car, and he died in the street, Sauschuck said.

Sauschuck did not describe the man's injuries and provided no information about the killing.

He said the man had no identification on him.

The man's body will be examined by the medical examiner.
