Police have released the identity of a pedestrian that was struck and killed by a drunk driver in South Portland.

The Portland Press Herald reports the victim was 24-year-old 24-year-old Joseph LePage of Hollis. He was walking along Cummings Road, near the rear entrance to Target just after midnight Sunday, when he was struck by a vehicle. LePage died at the scene.

The vehicle was allegedly driven by 29-year-old Kristin Hodak of Arundel, who was been charged with OUI and failing to stop for an accident resulting in death. When police got to the scene of the accident, the vehicle was gone. Hodak's disabled vehicle was found about 2 miles away, but she had left the area, getting a ride to a friend's house. She returned to the scene sometime later.

The investigation is ongoing.

We'll update this story as more details become available.
