Portland HS Teacher Arrested At School On Child Porn Charge

A Portland High School teacher was arrested at school on a child pornography charge Wednesday morning.

Art teacher Gerald White is charged with possession of sexually explicit material of someone under the age of 12.

White's computers were seized from his Freeport home on Tuesday.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says White had dozens of images of child pornography.

McCausland says none of the children depicted are believed to be from Maine.

White was taken to the Cumberland County Jail. He was released after posting $500 bail.
