The State Fire Marshal's Office says an arrest warrant has been issued for a Skowhegan man suspected of starting a fire at his apartment building last week.

In a news release on Monday, investigators said they're searching for 63-year-old Peter Gray and they plan on charging him with arson.

Gray is accused of starting the fire on Water Street at about 6:00 a.m. on October 26.

The fire at the 11-unit apartment building was confined to Gray's apartment and he was the only person who was hurt in the fire.

Investigators say he was recently released from Redington-Fairview General Hospital.

Gray is described as 5’6” tall, 145 pounds with gray hair.

Investigators suspect he may be staying with friends or at a homeless shelter in the state.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the public safety dispatch center in Augusta at 624-7076.
