Police are asking for the public's help identifying the person or persons who broke into a local jewelry store. The suspect's clothing is distinctive enough that they hope someone will recognize the person, or will become suspicious of someone with a large amount of jewelry to sell.

Images from surveillance video at Bennett's Gems and Jewelry of Belfast show at least one person in a mask reaching into the display cases. Bennett's is located on Route 1 and is in the same building as Perry's Nut House.

Anyone who thinks they may recognize the person in these pictures or who may have seen anything suspicious in the area of Bennett's Gems and Jewelry Sunday night or early Monday morning is asked to call Belfast Police at 338-2420. You can also message the police on their Facebook page. As always, all information will be kept confidential.
