Maine State Police say that they have located a vehicle and driver involved in a hit and run earlier today. The vehicle allegedly hit a horse drawn buggy before taking off.

Police say the horse drawn buggy was traveling southbound on Route 1A in Easton at approximately 3:00 this afternoon. The car reportedly struck the buggy, pushing it off the road and onto a lawn, and then drove away. The 16-year-old male operator of the buggy was thrown from the vehicle but was not hurt.The horse was not injured, but the buggy was destroyed.

State Police asked for the public's help late this afternoon in locating the car and driver. That vehicle and its driver have been located. Police say more details will be available as the investigation continues.
