Police have released the identity of a man whose body was found last week near a meth lab operation in Old Town.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says 50-year-old Jeffrey Miller had recently been released from jail after serving a sentence for making methamphetamine. His body was found at an Old Town home on Brunswick Street Thursday afternoon as drug agents were conducting an investigation into a meth lab. That operation had been discovered at an apartment house up the street earlier in the week. Four people have been arrested in connection with that case.

In April of 2016, Miller was sought by police after a meth lab was found inside a Hammond Street apartment in Bangor. He was tracked to a home on Deer Isle Road where he was arrested. MDEA agents found a meth lab at that home, as well.

The State Medical Examiner's Office is awaiting toxicology tests before finalizing the cause of Miller's death.
