A police pursuit through the streets of a Maine town ended when the suspect's car flipped on its side, skidded for a bit, and then continued onto its roof. Police were familiar with the driver and knew that he had been involved in an altercation at a local bar.

Bath Police say it all started around 8 p.m. on November 19th, when Corporal Jason Aucoin noticed a 2005 Gray Cadillac STS travel through the Brackett's Market parking lot at a high rate of speed. The driver was spinning the tires and driving erratically, according to Aucoin. He then accelerated the car and headed out onto Commercial Street.

Corporal Aucoin recognized the car as belonging to Rayon Wilson who he and other officers had dealt with about 45 minutes earlier at a local bar. Wilson was removed from the bar, after staff members complained of having a problem with him. It appeared to the officers that Wilson had been drinking and so he was warned not to drive.

When Aucoin tried to pull the Cadillac over, Wilson took off, stopping only briefly on Lambard Street and opening his door. Aucoin used the cruiser's P.A. system to instruct Wilson to shut off the car and get out, but Wilson took off again at a high rate of speed, nearly losing control of the car.

The pursuit continued through the streets of Bath until the Caddy entered the winding section of Chandler Drive. Wilson lost control of the car and hit a guard rail near the Bank of Maine, flipping the car onto its side and causing it to skid nearly 300 feet. At this point, the Cadillac rolled onto its roof and eventually came to a stop.

Rayon Wilson, age 30, with a last known address of Brunswick is charged with Operating Under the Influence and Eluding an Officer. At last report, he remained at the Two Bridges Jail in Wiscasset, unable to make bail.
