State Police are asking for the public's help finding a man who led authorities on a high speed chase Wednesday.

The incident started just after midnight, when a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Michael Gatcomb of Livermore Falls led New Hampshire Troopers on a chase into Maine. Once the vehicle was stopped, police believe Gatcomb fled into the woods along the turnpike, just north of the York Toll Plaza.

Police originally tried to pull the vehicle over when a Trooper observed the driver having significant lane control issues. A run of the license plate showed that it belonged on another vehicle. When he attempted to get Gatcomb to pull over, the suspect took off and the police gave chase. Speeds along I-95 exceeded 100 miles per hour.

Now, Police are asking for the public's help locating the suspect. Gatcomb is 6 feet tall, weights 190 pounds, and has blonde hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing jeans and a black hoodie. Police say, in addition to Livermore Falls, Gatcomb is known to frequent Bath, Fayette, and Franklin and Washington counties. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call State Police in Gray at (207) 657-3030.
