Police are investigating the suspicious death of a Milford man in his apartment.

Chief Deputy William Birch said in a media release that Penobscot County Sheriff's Deputies went to 103 Main Road in Milford just before 11:00 Tuesday morning for a medical call after it was reported that a man had been found, unresponsive, on the floor. When the deputies arrived, they immediately determined that the man was deceased.

So far, officials have not released the man's name, pending notification of family. While it's now known how he died, police are considering it a suspicious death. However, they say there's no immediate threat to the public. The man's body has been taken to the Chief Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy to determine cause of death.

We'll update this story as more details become available.
