Police in Westbrook responded to Riverbank Park Thursday after receiving a report of a large snake near the playground.

In a post on the department's Facebook page, police said the snake is as long as a truck and has a head the size of a small ball.

According to the report, the snake was spotted on the riverbank behind the playground near Main and Brown Streets.

Animal control and police officer's searched the area but didn't find anything.

Anyone who spots the snake is asked to avoid it and call Westbrook police at 854-0644.
