State Police are asking for the public's help in connection with a hit and run that left one man seriously injured.

Police were originally alerted to the accident by an anonymous phone caller who reported the crash just before 3:00 Saturday morning. Troopers found that a pedestrian had been struck on the dirt portion of Kennebunk Road in Alfred.

The initial investigation determined that a large number of young adults had been gathered for an outside party about a mile away on the same road. 21-year-old John Caramihalis of Alfred is being treated at Maine Medical Center in Portland for serious injuries.

State Police ask that anyone with information about this incident call their dispatch center in Gray at 657-3030.
