The state medical examiner's office conducted an autopsy Wednesday on the body of a 16-month-old baby who died at the Peek-A-Roo daycare center in Raymond.

Additional testing is needed to determine a cause of death for Travis Weston, who was found unresponsive Tuesday at about 2:30 p.m. after he was placed in a crib for a nap, Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said in a press release.

The Maine Department of Health and Human Services placed Weston at the center as a foster child on March 2. The owners of the daycare, Kent Sadak and his wife Teresa, were serving as the baby's foster parents. Police said the Sadaks have been cooperating with the investigation.

McCausland said the baby had suffered through ear infections for several weeks and was on medication.

State police are investigating, which is standard procedure following the death of a child under the age of three.
