Police Investigate Death of Man Found In Burned Home

State Police and the State Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the death of a man found dead inside a Caribou house Thursday night.

The body was found at 5 Lower Lyndon Street after Caribou firefighters had been called to the house for a report of a fire shortly before 10 p.m.

The body of the man was transported overnight to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta where an autopsy is now underway.

Fire damage was confined to the inside of the house, located at the corner of Van Buren Road, which is also Route 1.
