Police have made two arrests and are currently seeking a third suspect in connection with an attack on a man in Bangor last week.

On May 30th, Bangor police responded to reports of an assault at "the pines," a wooded area between I-95 and Indiana Avenue, police Sgt. Tim Cotton said in a news release on Monday.

Officers located a man in a tent and discovered that he had suffered serious injuries. The man was transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center and remains there in serious condition.

Since that time, members of the Criminal Investigation Division and the Evidence Response Team have been working together on the investigation.

On Friday, Ashley Mcgeoghegan, 27, of Dexter, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and robbery.

On Saturday, Christopher Goehringer, 33, of Bangor, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a third suspect, Troy Stevens, 39, formerly of Medford, charging him with aggravated assault.
