A judge has ordered that two pit bulls, who attacked and killed a Boston Terrier, will be euthanized.

The attack happened in May of 2015. Sharron Carey of Winslow testified on Monday that she thought the dogs would attack her after they were finished with her 10-month old dog, Fergie Rose. She tried to intervene when the pit bulls starting their assault on her pup and Carey ended up with injuries to her hands and back.

An owner of the pit bulls, Danielle Jones, asked the judge to spare her dogs but prosecutors asked that the dogs be put down. The judge agreed with the state and ordered that the dogs will be euthanized. Jones was also found guilty in the non-jury trial of two counts of keeping a dangerous dog and fined $500.
