A fun evening of food, auction items, and a unique fashion show will support an organization that works to help women diagnosed with breast cancer.

If you've never heard of the Pink Runway Project, it's not exactly what you may be thinking. While it sounds like a training school for fashion models, it's actually an organization that works to educate women with breast cancer about all their post-surgery options. Too many women who have mastectomies aren't aware of the fact that their insurance will also cover the cost of reconstructive surgery. The Pink Runway Project gives them the information they need, and will also support their right to choose not to have surgery.

This Saturday night, the organization is holding its annual Gala at the Cross Insurance Center that's going to be a lot of fun! It starts with a delicious dinner and a silent auction. There will be a live auction, as well, with items up for bid like a Bangor Police ride-along, restaurant gift certificates, vacations, and more! Then it's time for the fashion show, which will feature clothes from the dress shop 'Blush' being modeled by cancer survivors who have undergone reconstructive surgery.

The Pink Runway Project gala is being held Saturday night, from 6 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $75 each and are available through the organization's website. There will be no tickets sold at the door, so get yours now!
