Pedestrian Struck on Outer Hammond Street Dies of Injuries
Bangor police report that a man who was struck by a pickup on Outer Hammond Street earlier this week has died of his injuries. There's no word on whether any charges will be filed.
Bangor Police Sergeant Tim Cotton said in a press release that Timothy Gotto passed away Thursday night at a local hospital from injuries he sustained in the accident. The 55-year-old had been staying in the area but was originally from Mexico, Maine.
It was just after five o'clock on the evening of January 19th when Gotto was struck by a pickup on outer Hammond Street,in the vicinity of Leadbetter's Super Stop. The driver of the pickup, 27-year-old Desiree Pond of Hermon, was not hurt.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Bangor Police Department Accident Reconstruction team and the Criminal Investigation Division.
