Paula Deen’s Sponsors Shutting Off the Burners–Public Apology Not Enough
The fallout from Paula Deen’s admission that she indeed used racial slurs in the past, continues with the news that Walmart and Caesars are severing ties.
I was home when Deen went public on NBC’s Today Show as she interviewed with Matt Lauer. It was hard to watch as Deen tried her best to make a heartfelt plea to the viewing audience, essentially stating that we’ve all made such mistakes in the past, and if we haven’t then throw a rock at her head.
The whole thing has her between a rock and a hard place. Sure, she’ll lose sponsors and money, but much like Martha Stewart she’ll be back in the game before you know it.
