New England Patriots linebacker Darius Fleming reportedly kicked out the window of a smoking car to help a woman escape the vehicle.

The Associated Press reports the accident happened in front of Fleming as he was driving home from practice last Thursday.

Following the rescue, Fleming received 22 stitches in his right calf but he was able to play in Saturday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Last year, former Patriots defensive lineman Vince Wilfork was involved in a similar incident. Wilfork pulled a woman from a car that landed on its side during an accident following New England's win in the AFC championship game.
