Two weeks ago we invited you to join us for a spaghetti dinner at Dysart's. And now, we're encouraging you to stop by one of four area Hannaford stores to donate pasta so others can enjoy a tasty meal! The Ton O' Pasta Food drive will be held this Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm.

Why pasta? Well, there are several reasons. First, it's affordable. A box of pasta costs less than a dollar. And that box can feed a family of four. Plus, it's stackable so area food pantries can pile lots of it on their shelves. And let's face it. It's serious comfort food. If you're hungry, a big plate of spaghetti really hits the spot!

Why are we standing outside in February to do this? Why not pick a warmer month? The answer to this one is easy. Food pantries get lots of attention over the holidays, when we're all concerned with Mainers having a holiday meal. But once the tree comes down and we all hunker down to get through the winter weather, we tend to forget about those same food pantries. Problem is, all those people are still hungry.

So, now that you know all the why's, it's time for the please. Please...donate! Townsquare Media radio stations will be set up outside Hannaford stores in Brewer, Old Town, High Street in Ellsworth, and at the Airport Mall in Bangor. It's going to be a clear and sunny day, so come out and do some shopping...and while you're there, pick up a few extra boxes of pasta. You can even pick up some sauce, if you like! And, you don't have to get it at Hannaford. Buy the pasta anywhere you like. We're not fussy! Drop it with the radio station folks on the way out or drop by and leave it with us and we'll take care of the rest!

And one last thing....from all of us at Townsquare Media, thank you in advance!
