Part of Route 201, between The Forks and Jackman, will be shut down on Friday as crews work to remove a wind turbine tower from the side of the road.

The tower has been sitting along the side of the road since Monday, when a tractor trailer that was carrying it overturned in Johnson Mountain Township.

The work will begin at 7 a.m. and continue throughout much of the day, said Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.

Drivers are urged to seek alternate routes, including Route 27 from Kingfield and Routes 6 and 15 from Greenville, McCausland said.
