More than 15,000 people joined Jimmy Buffett Thursday night at Darling's Waterfront Pavilion, and lots of them showed up early.

Parrotheads from all over New England converged on the Bangor Waterfront and on Bass Park early Thursday, setting up a tailgate party the likes has rarely -- if ever -- been seen in the city.

Buffett brought his "I Don't Know Tour" to Bangor Thursday night, with the show starting at 7 p.m. but it was 5 O' clock somewhere!

Parrots, land sharks, margarita glasses, and colorful florals covered the Waterfront with a crowd that packed the venue. The Buffett kept the crowd moving all night long playing favorites like "Boat Drinks," "Pencil Thin Mustache," "Volcano," "Fins," "Margaritaville," and of course "Cheeseburger in Paradise."

The crowd was pleased to also hear covers like "Little Martha," "Take it Easy," "Southern Cross" and "Brown Eyed Girl" in his encore. See the full setlist here.

Buffett reportedly last performed in Maine in the late 1980s when he played at The Ballpark in Old Orchard Beach and the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland.
