The Bangor City Council has approved a ban on parking too close to driveways.

The Bangor Daily News reports motorists will not be allowed to park within 10 feet of the centerline of any driveway in the city.

According to the BDN, Councilor Pauline Civiello says the ordinance will only be enforced following a complaint.

“If I don’t have a problem, I’m not going to be calling, and neither will police be stopping to say you’re parked too close,” she said.

Under the ordinance, police can have your car towed if you're blocking the driveway.

The plan was sparked by a number of complaints involving Bangor residents who said cars were being parked too close to their driveways.
