Bucksport's Frost Fest and the Sullivan Winterfest have both been postponed because of the forecast of extremely cold temperatures and snow.

Frost Fest is an annual celebration in Bucksport, traditionally held during February school vacation. It was originally scheduled for tomorrow, but has been pushed back to Saturday, February 20th.

Activities at Frost Fest will kick off with an old fashioned ice skating party with music from Ray J'z Muzik, beginning at 11 a.m. at the ice skating rink on Miles Lane. There will also be a snow sculpture competition and a miniature golf course made of snow. To rent a putter and ball is $5, and kids under 5 can putt for free. All the fun wraps up at 3 o'clock when the snow sculptures will be judged and the winner awarded a prize.

Sullivan's Winterfest has also been pushed back to Saturday, February 20th, due to the weather. The third annual event will include ice skating, sledding, and the big Ice Fishing Derby on Flanders Pond. It's just $10 to enter.

If you stop by, be sure to grab some lunch at the concession stand. All the money raised at the booth will benefit the Phillip Carter Reading Scholarships. Carter was killed in a crash in 2014 by a drunk driver.

Tickets for the Sullivan Winterfest are available at Tideway, Hancock Grocery, Franklin Trading Post, and Young's.
