7 more sleeps. That's how I used to measure everything as a kid. "How many more sleeps"

The Big Eclipse is next Monday, the 21st. That's when the Sun is totally blocked if only for a moment. And if you know where to look, you'll have a chance to see 4 planets with the naked eye. Jupiter, Mars, Venus and Mercury. Wow.

Friendly reminder, to keep those solar eclipse glasses on when looking directly at the sun. And lots of those glasses don't meet minimum safety standards. Careful out there.

There will be free solar eclipse glasses given away by the Bangor Library on Wednesday the 16th at their Eclipse Lecture, which begins at 5:30 pm. The presentation features Shawn Laatsch from Emera Planetarium.
