The driver of a pickup truck was hurt when his vehicle rear-ended a school bus yesterday in Corinth.

The accident happened just after 3:00 on the Tate Road in Corinth. A school bus was preparing to drop some students off when it was hit by the pickup. Staff Sergeant William Sheehan with the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office told WVII-TV that the initial investigation suggests the pickup's driver did not brake before hitting the bus. He said it was a 'very hard hit' to the back of the bus.

The driver of the pickup, whose name has not been released, suffered serious injuries in the crash. No one on the bus was hurt.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
