One man was injured and a truck plunged into the water when the end of the breakwater in Eastport gave way. Boat owners were asked to move their vessels so the damage can be assessed and fixed.

Tobi Urquart with the Eastport Port Authority told us this morning that the water was dead calm when the end of the breakwater collapsed. Some boats sustained damage and one man suffered a non-life threatening injury.

Eastport Port Authority director Chris Gardner said id appeared underwater metal boxes that hold the pilings in place had eroded. The breakwater was built in the 1960's. Senator Susan Collins just secured federal funds to replace it.
