A Bangor man faces an arson charge in connection with a garage fire last month, and a second garage fire in the city remains under investigation.

Fire Marshal's office investigators were called in to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed a 3-bay garage on Hancock Street.

Investigators say 29 year old Detric Stanley, who had recently been evicted from nearby apartments, is responsible for setting the fire, but his appointed attorney says Stanley admits he may have been drunk and in the area that day, but he did not set the fire.

Sgt. Tim York with the Fire Marshal's office says the garage fire on Lincoln Street was also deliberately set and remains an active investigation.
