A man was killed and another was seriously hurt when a box truck collided with a car on Route 302 in Casco Wednesday.

Adam Perron, 29, of Harrison, was pounced dead at the scene, reports the Portland Press Herald.

Joshua McNally, 31, of Westbrook, was transported to Maine Medical Center with serious injuries.

McNally was driving a Native Maine Produce and Specialty Foods box truck when he swerved into the path of Perron's Pontiac Vibe, said Capt. Don Goulet of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

The truck struck Perron’s car on the driver’s side and continued down an embankment. The truck truck rolled into its side, pinning McNally under the vehicle. It took crews about 40 minutes to extricate McNally from the wreckage, Goulet said.

Investigators are still trying to determine what caused McNally to swerve into the path of Perron's vehicle.
