Oldest Family Distillery ‘Still’ in Business in New Jersey
I love history. My wife will attest to my affinity for things like the History Channel, Discovery Channel, or any news story for that matter that delves into the past. And when I stumbled across a video story of a family business that’s been around for 332 years, I just had to share it you.
That’s right, the Laird family has been distilling apple brandy for 332 years–the 14th oldest family business in the United States. There’s even evidence that our presidents have been consuming and serving this tasty beverage to their guests, dating all the way back to George Washington. They have the first distillery license: #1. Cool, huh?
Today, the Laird’s bottle about a million bottles a year.
