Lewiston Toddler Stuck By Vehicle Driven By Father, Critically Injured
Police say a Lewiston toddler was critically injured when he was struck by a vehicle driven by his father Monday.
The Portland Press Herald reports 2-year-old Lucas Holmes was struck by the vehicle in the parking lot of Hillview Apartments on Rideout Avenue.
Lewiston Fire Lt. William Soucy said the father, 24-year-old Ron Holmes, accidentally struck the boy with the vehicle as he was backing up.
Investigators said Holmes was operating the vehicle on a suspended license. He told police he was moving the vehicle for his girlfriend.
Lewiston Police Lt. Michael McGonagle said the boy suffered life-threatening injuries to his head and torso.
McGonagle said the toddler is listed in critical condition at Maine Medical Center.
The incident is under investigation. No charges have been filed.
