Number of Overdose Deaths in Maine Rise Rapidly

2014 had the most drug overdoses on record in Maine with more than 200 overdose related deaths. 

In 2014 Maine saw an extreme rise in Heroin use and overdose contributing to the 208 total  overdose deaths. According to Maine Attorney General Janet Mills Maine has never had more than 200 deaths in a single year and no age group is immune as those who overdosed were age 18-88.

April, 2014 had on average one overdose death per day.
