They mix in some rock and some contemporary Country, but the guys in the group 'North of Nashville' cite the classic outlaw groups as their influence. And it's awesome!

Erik and I had the chance to chat with Andrew Martelle, who cited 'The Highwaymen' as one of the group's biggest influences. I had gone to their website before the interview, and found that I really enjoyed their more traditional sound. And I think the audience at Oktobeerfest will too!

'North of Nashville' is made up of Andrew and Jay Basiner. They're a two-man band, but they're also multi-talented! According to their Facebook page, Jay plays acoustic guitar, harmonica, bass drum, snare drum, and tambourine, in addition to lead vocals. Andrew plays fiddle, mandolin, and guitar, as well as vocals. Wow!

Don't miss this talented duo when they take the stage at 2:30 Saturday, October 3rd at Oktobeerfest! This all-day music/food/beer fest is being held in Downtown Bangor's Pickering Square from 1 to 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available on our website. Get them today because you save five bucks if you buy them in advance. And hey...that's the cost of a beer!

Since the guys can't make it up to perform live on Q-106.5, I wanted to share a video of North of Nashville performing a song called 'The Great State of Maine!'
