No One Has Actually Hijacked Your Facebook Page

Hi….I actually got another friend request from you yesterday…which I ignored so you may want to check your account. Hold your finger on the message until the forward button appears…then hit forward and all the people you want to forward too….

If this message has popped up in your Facebook inbox recently, you are not alone. The first time I saw it, I didn't take it very seriously. The tenth time I saw it, I realized it was just a giant hoax.

Ok, maybe not a huge hoax, but nonetheless, it's not real. Pretty much anytime you get a message that encourages you to copy and paste and forward, it's been written by some jerk a million miles from here, that is getting a great big kick out of watching their little joke make the rounds on the internet.

Now, at the risk of stereotyping, I've noticed that the people who are victim of this most often, are older Facebook users, who might not be as social media savvy as the younger folks. I'm in the previous category. Mt nephews are constantly telling me how Facebook works. But again...if anyone is ever sending you a message that asks you copy, paste, and forward to all your friends. It's likely a load of bull.

So be careful out there! Facebook loooooves to make fools out of all of us. Try not to be sucked in by those who are just simply trying to be Facebook famous in their own minds!
