UPDATE: Newport Man Charged In Convenience Store Shooting

A fight between two men at a Newport convenience store ended when one shot and wounded the other.

The incident happened just after 6 p.m. Wednesday at Bear's One Stop on the Moosehead Trail. Police told WABI-TV that one of the men was knocked down during the fight. When he got to his feet, he fired three shots.

Brian Duplisea, 34, of Newport has been charged with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon,.

The victim, who was not named, was hit in the abdomen and the leg, while a third shot missed him entirely. Witnesses told police that the victim crawled into the store before being taken to a local hospital.
