You may have heard me talk about how excited I was to get my 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 series pickup undercoated to protect it from the salt and brine that eats up so many Maine vehicles every winter season.

My last GMC truck died an early death related to salt and rust and corrosion that destroyed the frame and body. In fact, I spent a few thousand dollars to try and save it, by alas, the damage was too severe to continue to repair. So I sold it and used the money to have my 'new-to-me' truck undercoated. I'm just so elated on how it came out, I just had to share a few pictures. I wish I would have had my old truck undercoated when I first bought it.

Like me, many Mainers hang onto their vehicles until it's no longer cost effective to repair them. But now you can enjoy the full life of your vehicle while cutting down tremendously on repair costs by getting it undercoated. A bonus to getting it done is that it will add value to your vehicle when you decide to sell or trade.

My advice? Get it done! It doesn't matter if your vehicle has a few years on it, or it's new--which is ideal--just get it done!
