Mystery Suds Fill Ellsworth Brook [VIDEO]

Large, puffy balls of foam filled Davis Brook in Ellsworth Tuesday.

Timothy and Georgia Smith own Old Whitney House Antiques on State Street. The couple told the Ellsworth American they discovered the soap suds when they returned to their home around 3:30 p.m. The Smiths say foam blew through their yard and left a soapy mess outside their home.

Code Enforcement Officer Dwight Tilton says someone may have dumped an unknown substance into a catch basin at Ellsworth High School. Tilton says he'll call in the Maine Department of Environmental Protection to investigate.
