The Bangor Rotary is celebrating its Centennial year and, once again, offers Music Off Broadway this weekend.

Each spring, the Rotary Club of Bangor puts together a show full of music and dancing to raise money for area charities. This year's show is called 'A Centennial Celebration,' because the Rotary Club is 100 years old. Some of the most talented community members in the area will perform music from each of the past 10 decades. The audience will be treated to a little bit of everything, from World War II songs to the Jackson 5, Temptations, and much, much more!

Proceeds from this year's even will benefit several non-profits, including the Challenger Learning Center, Shaw House, United Farmer Veterans of Maine, Eastern Area Agency on Aging, Camp Capella, and the Hilltop School. Since 2006, Bangor Rotary Club has raised nearly $250,000 through Music Off Broadway performances.

The 'Off Broadway' portion of the show's title is appropriate, since the performances take place at Peake's Auditorium, located in Bangor High School, just off Broadway in Bangor. General admission tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for youth, and $35 for patrons who receive preferred seating. Tickets are now available from Rotary Club members and on sale at Rebecca's in Downtown Bangor, Patrick's Hallmark Store, Huckleberries in Bucksport, and select Camden National Bank branches. Tickets will also be on sale at the door on the performance dates. For more information on the show and the club, log onto the Bangor Rotary's website.
