The 'Moving Wall,' a traveling tribute to the National Vietnam Veterans Memorial is in Dexter this weekend.

Since 1984, this half-scale model of the original memorial has been traveling the country, giving Vietnam Vets, their loved ones, and local communities a chance to experience its powerful message. The original made its first appearance in Texas, but is now joined by a second portable memorial, so twice as many communities can share the experience. A half-scale replica of the National Monument in Washington, D.C., it contains 58,315 names of Veterans who lost their lives in Vietnam or were listed as Missing In Action. As you stand in front of the memorial, your reflection mixes with the names, which its creators say is symbolic of bringing the past and present together.

Everyone is encouraged to spend some time at the Moving Wall, set up in Dexter's Ellms Field this weekend.
