A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital after his bike collided with a pickup truck Sunday morning in Waldoboro.

The crash occurred around 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Route 220 and Old Augusta Road.

Waldoboro police officer Christopher Spear told the Bangor Daily News the two vehicles entered the intersection at the same time, and a dip in the roadway may have made it difficult for the two drivers to see each other.

The driver of the truck was not hurt. The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital by LifeFlight.

Police did not immediately release the names of the drivers or the extent of the motorcyclist’s injuries.

Spear said the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.

The crash remains under investigation.
