A 63-year-old motorcyclist died after an accident involving a school bus in Caribou on Tuesday.

WAGM-TV reports the accident happened Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Route 89 and the Bowles Road. A motorcycle driven by Leonard Curtis was traveling behind an ACAP school bus, when the bus slowed to make a left turn on the Bowles Road. Curtis wasn't able to stop in time and had to lay the bike down on the roadway.

Police say the motorcyclist wasn't wearing a helmet and was taken to Cary Medical Center by the Caribou Fire and Ambulance, where he died. The bus driver and one passenger weren't injured.

Caribou Police continue to investigate the incident.
