More Charges Leveled In Penobscot County Drug Bust

Police in Penobscot County have made additional arrests in a drug investigation.

Bruce McAlpine, 29, of Mattawamkeag on Monday was charged with aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine after police seized from his Depot Street home more than 2.5 pounds of crystal methamphetamine with a retail street value of $180,000. Police also seized two rifles, according to a Wednesday news release.

Police also recovered six handguns and a sawed-off shotgun that had been hidden on the side of a road in Mattawamkeag. Agents say the guns had previously been at the Depot Street residence of McAlpine, but had been stashed prior to Monday night’s search of the home.

McAlpine was taken to the Penobscot County Jail.

Last Friday in Lincoln, agents arrested Jared Fogg, 27, of Lake Whales, Florida (and Maine) and Rogelio Rios, 29, of Labelle, Florida. Seized from the men were 125 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 42 grams of heroin, more than $19,000 in cash and two 9mm handguns.
